#10 South African Fattail Scorpion
The South African Fattail Scorpion, also known as the Transvaal Thicktail Scorpion, is a popular exotic pet in the United States, even if it’s one of the most poisonous scorpions in South Africa.
It’s characterized by its brown-black color with light pincers and a thick tail. When stung with its venom, intense pain is the least of it.
For weaker bodies, it can cause life-threatening neuromuscular toxicity and even death for children and senior citizens. Sting treatment will require an antivenom formula.
