#26 Hag Moth
The Hag Moth caterpillar, also called the Monkey Slug, is a bizarre-looking caterpillar with 18 appendages, covered in short brown hair with spines connected to toxic venom. The stinging caterpillar can easily inflict pain with swelling and a burning itch, similar to a bee sting.
This caterpillar likes to live in greenery and usually comes to life in the late summer. Even though this is one of the less harmful stinging caterpillars, you still wouldn’t want to touch this since insect sting sensitivity could make the effects of its poison worse.
