#33 Kissing Bugs
Kissing bugs, known also as “changas”, earned their name due to their penchant for deciding to bite human lips as opposed to other locations. They also bite animals in a similar manner. Their bites cause rashes and welts to form on the skin quickly.
Kissing bugs are dangerous because they transmit a number of diseases and microorganisms through their bites, including Trypanosoma cruzi, which is a parasite. The bugs are responsible for around 12,000 deaths annually.
