16. Cavemen In The 21st Century
More than 30 million people in China live in caves, known as ‘yaodongs’. These yaodongs are dug out through the side of mountains and makeshift doors for them are created out of papers or blankets.
Cave people treat them with just as much care as any normal house. Caves are designed with high ceilings, natural light and cool air. Some dwellers even build ritzy versions of the caves made of stone masonry and added amenities such as light, water and plumbing. The main reason for this shift is finance and energy conservation that drives many to adopt this lifestyle.
